Spanish soccer’s LaLiga has signed an extension of its French-language broadcast partnership with a pay-TV network.
The media company will continue to serve as the regional broadcaster of Spanish soccer’s top two tiers, with the new season set to kick off on August 12th.
Canal+ Sport channels will provide live coverage of select fixtures from each round of LaLiga and the second-tier LaLiga Segunda with these matches also made accessible via the Canal+ streaming platform.
The LaLiga World magazine show and highlights programming from the second division will also be included in Canal+.
A key piece of the broadcaster’s regional soccer rights portfolio, which also includes the Premier League, the Bundesliga from Germany and the French top-tier Ligue 1, remains after the LaLiga deal.
The Spanish Football Federation has renewed its US rights deal with the Disney-owned broadcasting giant. All 65 games from the tournament will be broadcast on the ESPN+ subscription streaming service, with coverage available in both Spanish and English.
