TOP STORY: PSG have inside track to Silva
According to The Times, Paris Saint-Germain are working on a deal to sign a Manchester City player.
Barcelona have been linked with the Portugal international who wants to leave.
The Parisians don’t have the same financial issues as Barcelona and they are confident that Silva will move to France if a fee is agreed with City.
It is reported that Paris Saint-Germain are willing to pay as much as 70 million for the City player.
Offering Silva improved personal terms will not be a problem for Paris Saint-Germain, something that can’t be said of Barcelona.
The Catalans are pinning a lot of their hopes on the player’s decision to join them. The club still needs to create more salary space if they are to sign any more players, as Jules Kounde remains unregistered while their other four summer additions were registered the day before last Saturday’s season.
In this summer’s signings, Paris Saint-Germain have permanently signed Vitinha, Renato Sanches,Nordi Mukiele, and Nuno Mendes.

Rob is of the opinion that ten Hag hasn’t been given a chance as a manager at Manchester United and he’s a vulnerable target as the club’s manager.
13.49 BST: ESPN’s Rob Dawson reports that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag still wants to sign several players before the transfer window closes, but time is running out before the deadline and he could soon find himself on thin ice if results don’t improve:
“Ten Hag has made it clear to both [CEO Richard] Arnold and [football director John] Murtough that if he’s to turn things around, he needs new players before the transfer deadline on Sept. 1. Sources have told ESPN that the club are “aligned” with his demand for more signings, but with two weeks to go before the close of the window, the clock is ticking.
“Ten Hag wants to sign Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona, while a deal for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot has collapsed over the Frenchman’s wage demands. Ideally, he wants at least one more forward — Christian Pulisic is the latest player linked to a move, albeit on loan — another goalkeeper and a right-back as well, but he accepts the chances of having all his requests met before the end of the window are slim.
“There’s a sense from Ten Hag’s side that the club, so far, are not fulfilling their side of the bargain in terms of making changes to a squad that underperformed so miserably last season. But during conversations leading up to his appointment, it was made clear he would have to get more out of the existing players and there are concerns — small at this stage, though growing after that 4-0 defeat at Brentford — that it’s not happening.”
According to the Daily Mail, the contract talks between the two parties have stopped.
Keita is out of contract at the end of the season and is considering his future, with no new deal in the offing.
Although they do not intend to let him go this summer, they would rather lose him as a free agent next year than reduce the size of their squad in this window.
The long-term plan of the club is to sign Jude Bellingham next summer.
Barcelona are considering Thomas Meunier as a candidate to strengthen their options at right-back.
Cesar Azpilicueta missed out on signing with Barcelona because he chose to stay with the London outfit.
Barcelona are still looking for an experienced right-back, and Juan Foyth is the preferred choice of Xavi. With Villarreal unwilling to let him leave, Barcelona are considering other alternatives.
The profile Barcelona are looking for is found in Meunier. The contract with the Belgium international ends in June of 2024.
According to the Guardian, Willian is back in London and training with his old club.
Willian terminated his contract with the club because he and his family received threats and abuse.
While he is looking for a new club, the 34-year-old is training with the newly-promoted Premier League side.
Willian’s exit is a lesson for Brazilian football.
The Daily Mail reported that NicolasPepe is a target for Nice.
The record signing by the club has struggled to live up to his fee.
The Ivoirian started five games in the premier league last season, but has yet to make an appearance this year.
The Mail reports that Nice are trying to sign Ben Brereton Diaz, while the club is also trying to bring in Pepe on loan.
Sky Sports reported that Tanguy is on the verge of joining Napoli on a season-long loan.
The transfer of Ndombele is expected to be complete on Thursday.
There is an option for the club to make the move permanent next summer. He was on loan at Lyon in the second half of last season.
The Naples club wanted to strengthen their line in the middle of the field with the expected move of Fabian Ruiz to Paris Saint-Germain later this month.
Unai Emery is unperturbed by the reported interest from Barcelona in Juan Foyth.
The Yellow Submarine do not want to lose Foyth, who spent last season on loan at Spurs. The Argentina international has been linked with Barcelona and is under contract with the Spanish team. If the 42m release clause is met, Foyth will be allowed to leave this summer.
Emery said he saw Foyth very happy here. It gives me peace of mind. The club and player’s opinions are already known. We don’t know what Barcelona think.
There could be unwanted departures before the transfer window closes.
It doesn’t make sense to close the transfer window on August 31. The market should be closed because we are playing.
If a player thinks he can leave for an offer that interests him, that would affect us.
A season-long loan from Real Madrid is about to be signed by Girona, according to reports.
The 20-year-old returned to Madrid this summer after spending two seasons on loan at the German club.
In January 2020 Madrid signed Reinier from Flamengo for 35m, but he has yet to make a senior appearance.
There are three Spanish sides that have been linked with Reinier. Girona, back in LaLiga after a three-year absence, appears to have won the race to sign a Brazilian.
The deal to be completed is pending Real Madrid’s approval. There is no option for a permanent move in the deal.
08.23 BST: Wolverhampton Wanderers announced late last night that they have signed midfielder Matheus Nunes from Sporting CP in a club-record deal.
Record is reporting that Wolves paid 45m for the player, which could rise to 50m, after beating West Ham.
He scored four goals and set up five more in 50 appearances last year.
𝐿𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡𝑠, 𝑐𝑎𝑚𝑒𝑟𝑎, 𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏! Welcome, Matheus.
