The English Championship division is not a place where some of the best soccer you will ever see is being played, but what it lacks in quality, it makes up for in drama. The Beautiful Game can be found in the Championship if the league is home to it.
Yesterday, the game was between Milwall andSwansea City. The game ended in a 2–2 draw, but there was more to it, so I wouldn’t tell you about it in this post. I will tell you that in the 93rd minute of the game, Milwall was down 2–0, and they had five minutes to get back in the game. The game had two own goals. The counter attack was broken up by one of the best tackles you will ever see, before the second one was scored. You need to see this shit to believe it, so here are the last few minutes of the game.
I don’t think you need to care about either of these teams in order to feel the urge to jump out of your seat at the moment Ryan Leonard makes that perfect recovery tackle to keep the game going. They should build a statue of that guy now.
This is why soccer is the best. The result was an unthinkable one because two guys knocked the ball into their own net. That is sports, baby.
